Do you feel like your targeting is a bit…’loosey-goosey?’ Like you’re putting your message out to the whole world and just hoping (praying) that your ideal audience will see it and come running to you with their credit cards out wanting to book?
If so, you probably don’t realise the amazing targeting opportunities open to you courtesy of fabulous Facebook. Here are some great examples:
- Wedding photographer? Did you know, you can target newly engaged couples or even people interested in particular bridal magazines or wedding ring brands? You have a relatively short time to reach your newly engaged couples looking for you (their perfect wedding photographer) – so pounce while the iron is hot, my friend, and get your message out to them pronto.
- Family photographer? Layer your target audience of parents of children (in 7 different age brackets, from baby through to older teen), with interests that resonate with your ideal customer avatar.
- Targeting options such as ‘an anniversary coming up in 30 days’ could be ideal to use for a voucher for a couple’s photoshoot, for example.
You can also laser in on your desired location too – so whether you serve your entire county, or specific towns within it, you can literally drop a pin on a map and tell Facebook to reach people who live in those areas AND match the demographic and interest targeting options, such as in the examples above.
There are also certain events throughout the year that lend themselves beautifully to photography offers. For example, Mother’s Day or Back To School. Instead of running generic brand awareness ads all year round, tailor your ad copy and content to suit specific times of the year to specific audiences who are likely to be interested in your seasonal offers.
